What a super fun time curating the re:place show with Arts Gowanus at Affordable Art Fair NYC this past week! BIG THANKS to the artists who contributed and everyone who came out to see the show - collectors who went home with a piece, artists in the show some of whom I met for the first time, people from the neighborhood, old friends, and loads of curious newcomers to what Gowanus is all about. It’s fulfilling to see the show touch people’s hearts and minds and I’m grateful for all the feedback received.
This never would have happened without the invitation and support of Johnny Thorton and Emily Chiavelli, thanks for the call to action and being great partners to work with! And thank you to fair director Erin Schuppert and Affordable Art Fair for the support and generous booth space which allowed us to put on such a comprehensive show. Looking forward to more challenges on the curating front, this certainly was an ambitious one, but hopefully just the start of new things to come ; )
